What is directed parking?
Directed parking maximizes the use of available spaces in a lot, ensuring vehicles park in an efficient, safe, and orderly fashion. Upon arrival, vehicles will be instructed to park in the next available empty space by a parking attendant. This process helps to prevent congestion and ensures vehicles don’t block access points.
Where can I buy parking passes?
You can buy parking passes at this link.
Why are the 49ers implementing directed parking with lots for gamedays?
Directed parking offers several benefits including, reducing congestion, improved safety, enhanced accessibility, time savings, and improved traffic flow in and out of the stadium. Parking staff will be in lots to provide instructions and answer any questions.
What is the order in which you will fill specific parts of the tailgating lots?
In most occurrences, the spaces farthest from the parking lot entry are filled first. By filling those spaces first, vehicle traffic in parking lots is limited and reduces the amount of vehicle and pedestrian conflict points.
Why are the lots filled in the order outlined above?
The safety of our fans is our number one priority. By limiting vehicle traffic in parking lots, the number of pedestrians walking in or around the path of moving vehicles is reduced. Directed parking also creates optimal cue lengths as vehicles enter into specific areas of the parking lots, thus saving time for fans.
How do I park with my tailgate group within the lot?
In an effort to tailgate with your group, it is important to sync your arrival or meet your party at a designated area near the stadium and caravan in.
How do I park with my entire tailgate group within the lot if we all arrive at different times?
Unfortunately, if you do not arrive at the same time, we cannot accommodate this request.
How do I park near my friend who has an Early Entry Tailgate placard and I cannot enter the lot at the same time as them?
Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that cars arriving at different times will have the ability to park next to each other.
Do the 49ers offer in-person parking purchases at the lots they operate?
This season Red, Blue, and Green Lot 1 are all sold out, please consider using alternate lots or public transportation. However, similar to Game tickets, single-game parking tickets can become available; please check the web address link or the APP. Please access the Parking page for parking information on Game Day and what lots are available.
What am I supposed to do for the games that the organization does not have any more single-game or season-long parking available?
Several private lots in the area are available for gameday in-person purchases. For a full list and area map, please click here. Public transportation and rideshare are also encouraged for all guests, where this is an option.
I arrive early to park near the exit so I can leave just before the end of the game and get out quickly. How can I assure I am still able to do this with directed parking?
Every effort will be made to expedite departure for all our fans. Fans can park their vehicle by pulling into the spot or backing in for an easier exit.
What do the 49ers plan to do as more parking is lost in the coming years?
We will continue to look for additional parking opportunities and work with our transit partners to find opportunities to improve upon an already robust public transportation system.

What is Early Entry Tailgate (EET)?
Early Entry Tailgate is a program by which season ticket holders can enter the parking lot 60 minutes before gates open. EET operates exclusively in lots Blue 1 & Green 1 and requires a prepaid parking pass.
Who is eligible for Early Entry Tailgate?
Season ticket members with season-long prepaid Blue 1 or Green 1 parking passes.
Why is the parking area for Early Entry Tailgating being moved?
Historically, our Early Entry Tailgating component has established some of our largest tailgating areas. These large tailgates impact our ability to load the parking lot efficiently and impede our fan movement from the lots to the stadium. It is anticipated that the new EET area will reduce congestion within the parking lots, and give fans a faster exit, more restrooms, and an uninterrupted tailgate experience.
Are Early Entry Tailgate pass holders subject to directed parking?
Although EET pass holders will be directed to specific sections within Green 1 & Blue 1, every effort will be extended to ensure a positive gameday experience.
Can my non-early Entry Tailgate friends join me in the Early Entry Tailgate Area?
Although every effort will be made to ensure a positive gameday experience, it is anticipated that space in this area will be limited to Early Entry Tailgate pass holders only. However, Parking Operations reserves the right to backfill empty spaces once parking lots open.
If I am not an Early Entry Tailgate pass holder, can I park where I want?
For the 2024 NFL season, directed parking will still be in place. As a result, fans will be directed to the current parking area being parked.
Will there be any new rules or regulations affecting tailgating this season?
We will continue to ask that tailgaters take only 1 parking space, and follow directed parking instructions. Additionally, we will be reinforcing the policy of not amplifying music.
If I come late and I am an Early Entry Tailgate pass holder, can I still park in that area? Is my space saved?
Once the parking lots are opened to all, arriving vehicles will be directed to the section of the parking lot the operations team is currently loading. It is unlikely that coming late will still allow a person to get to the Early Entry Tailgate area.
How early can I arrive to get in line at the gates on Gameday?
Although there is no set time when a fan can arrive, we are bound by the queuing areas in front of each gate. Once those areas are full, fans will be directed to not block the public thoroughfares.
Are Early Entry Tailgate passes transferable?
Currently, there are no plans to allow an Early Entry Tailgate pass to be transferred, resold, or used by someone else.
Does the Early Entry Tailgate program operate for the playoffs?
Early entry tailgating only applies to regular season home games. Should it be extended for the playoffs, pass holders will be notified.
What should I do if I see any tailgaters, including Early Entry pass holders, breaking the code of conduct?
Violations of the fan code of conduct and or parking lot rules can be emailed to parking.request@49ers-smc.com on game day. An Early Entry tailgate pass holder who violates any of the gameday rules is subject to having their EET pass revoked for the remainder of the season or, in certain circumstances, all parking rights.
